I am mainly looking to practice my spanish. My most problematic area is speaking the language. I have been studying spanish for a while and just got back from Ecuador. Hello, I am a final-year medical student and am teaching myself Japanese because I will be studying at a Japanese medical school this spring. My grammar level is high-intermed iate or so, and my Kanji knowledge is about 400 (goal is 500+ by end of 2004). My listening and speaking skills are not good, though, as there is nobody with whom to practice conversation. So, I am seeking a teacher (preferably a native Japanese speaker) who can focus on conversation and help me to increase my listening and speaking fluency, especially as I will be interacting with medical patients when I am in Japan. I would like to spend 1-2 hours a week on lessons (in addition to any homework) and will be in Baltimore through mid-March.
