Hi,
I would like to take Hebrew lessons once a week, with homework!
I was born in Israel - my father is Israeli - but Hebrew was not spoken at home. Through listening to family, etc., I can speak basic Hebrew, but I have never really studied it properly. I know the alphabet and can read on a basic level, but I would like to build up my fundamental skills so that I can speak correctly. I have learned French, Spanish and Portuguese so I am familiar with grammar (and I enjoy it!). I work in South Beach, so I would like classes after work if possible (I finish at 6pm). I would like my language teacher to be dynamic, to correct me a lot, be very patient, to not speak English with me (I can speak Hebrew all day long if you are patient!) and to have a solid knowledge of Hebrew grammar and literature.

Hello,
My name is Angelia and I'd like to learn fluent Swedish because I plan on moving to Sweden this year to live there permanently to begin my studies and work. I've found it very difficult so far to search for jobs online, being that most job postings are in Swedish, and also, require for the applicant to speak Swedish. As far as my proficiency level is concerned, I'm a beginner. I can read Swedish fairly well, although I can only understand basic words such as 'och, du, med, jag' and so forth. In general, I would like to improve in every aspect of the language, and I'm willing to put in as much time and effort as needed to be able to learn the language. I'm looking for hands on practice, meaning written work assignments as well as conversationa l time for practice. I'd like to be able to ask questions about grammar rules with my teacher, but otherwise I'm very open to learning in any way.

I am interested in learning Chinese (Mandarin) because I am currently living/teachi ng English in Beijing, China. I've been in China for about 2 years. I take Chinese lessons twice a week in an informal setting. I would put my level at late elementary/ea rly intermediate level. My speaking and listening is much more advanced than my reading or writing. (I can read some characters, but I have never officially been taught how to write characters- I only have a little self-study in that area.)
I would like to improve in grammar (sentence structure), reading, and writing. Along the way, I'm interested in increasing my vocabulary.
I am returning to Miami, Florida for 8 weeks this summer (summer 2010) probably from late June until mid-August. I would like to study Chinese 2-3 times weekly during this break, to improve my Chinese prior to flying back to Beijing. My residence in Miami is about 2 miles down FL-5/US-1 from the University of Miami.
Bec ause I live in Beijing, some of the Chinese (especially speaking) I have learned is not strictly putonghua, but rather Beijinghua. That being said, I am not interested in studying with someone who comes from a province where the dialect is vastly different from Beijing (ie. from a Southern province), as Beijing is where I reside and use Chinese on a daily basis.
