I am tentatively stationed in Tbilisi, Georgia from 26 November 2010 until 26 March 2010 as a business analyst/econo mic investment reporter for a Western European publication. Though I would love to speak Georgian, I would like to learn Russian more as I will most likely be stationed in other Russian speaking countries in the next year such as Ukraine, Azerbaijan, etc. and would like to learn a language that I will be able to use in all of my future posts.
My proficiency level is beginner - I can read the alphabet (I know the sounds all the letters make), as well as say common phrases ('hello', 'how are you', etc), but that is it.
I care about all aspects of the language - I want to learn to read and write it as well as speak it.
I want to dedicate roughly 5 hrs./wk to Russian lessons - not including studying independently .
As I am essentially a traveling journalist with no set schedule my work hours vary. Some days are 9 AM - 5 PM and others are 2 PM - 10 PM going to networking events, etc. I am looking for someone flexible - not necessarily in their schedule - but in their ability to reschedule if needed. I am willing to commit and pay up front (i.e. 500 LARI for X amount of weeks and lessons on scheduled dates), but I need someone that I can call if something comes up and be able to reschedule without me losing money.
