I am very much interested in the continuation of my studies in russian language. I studied in st.pete a few years agon. My goal is to reach a proficient level of speaking and reading. I can dedicate hours to the studies on my own and possibly dedicate travel near philadelphia for class. I learn best from books and conversation. My son and daughter-in-l aw live in St. Petersburg Russia. We visited Russia and enjoyed our visit. It would be nice if I and my wife can learn to speak conversationa l Russian and be able to pick up a newspaper and make some since of it.
We do not know the language.
I and my wife will be taking the courses together. There is no particular time frame, but it would be nice when we visit Russia again in two years we will be able to get around the airport, museums and shopping areas with ease.
What we look for is patience in our teacher. We are both very busy and have our professions. However we understand that there has to be a degree of accomplishmen t and dedicated study. It would be nice for the teacher to reflect on Russia's customs and history, also.

I am wanting to learn Russian because my spouses family is from Kiev and they don't speak very much english. I am extremely basic, I only know a couple words in Russian. I feel I need help in ALL areas of language and grammar in this language. I am currently on Maternity leave so I have a lot of time to practice and I can practice with my spouse. I need someone who has a very detailed lesson plan (one you would teach to a child I suppose to start?) I pick up on language easy but the cryptic alphabet confuses me, I am also looking for someone who has patience and is affordable.
