I am interested in studying Mandarin. In 1995, I spent a summer in Beijing at Capital Normal University studying Chinese and would like to begin studying again. i have never taken any chinese lessons before, and i am looking for a teacher who will be able to give me a decent crash course in mandarin chinese in two years. I want to be able to live in china and interact with the people. My goal is to study in china for eight years at a shaolin temple to learn shaolin kempo. I am 18 years old and eager to learn. my budget is limited, but i will be able to meet you almost anywhere to make the lessons cheaper.

I believe I'm between beginner/inte rmediate level because I can read many chinese characters, but cannot write most of them. I also can understand some Chinese, but speaking it is difficult. I am learning Chinese for my own pleasure and I wish to become fluent. I need improvement in writing, speaking, and grammar. I would like to dedicate one day a week and hours depending on the instructor and my ability to master fluency. I am looking for patience, creativity, and flexibility in my instructor. I would also be accompanied by another student so please bear that in mind.
