I'm a novice at speaking Vietnamese. I need this class to become certified as a Teacher, as well as personal goals. I need 3 credits (and a transcript, when course completed) for this course to be accepted by my college. I would like to dedicate 2-4 hours/week for my language lessons. Hi, I'm 30 years old, live in sacramento and was born in Vietnam but cannot speak the language. I vaguely understand bits and pieces. I have tried taking a course at Sac City College but was embarrassed because the teacher kept making funny of me openly. My parents tried to teach me but they too make fun of me. The vietnamese church won't accept adults in their classes and I can't tell if I am pronouncing the words right on the CDs I purchased online. I'm looking for someone who has patience and won't make fun of the fact that I have a hard time pronouncing words even though it is my native language.
