I am currently studying towards a maters in environmental development at the University of Pennsylvania and see opportunity within the Chinese market. I do not have any previous experience with the language, however I recently returned from a 3 week trip to China. I'm willing to spend all the time can give. I am part of a consulting firm that helps companies take their products into China. I have traveled to China several times this year and expect to have many more trips. I have used books, CDs, and help from my Chinese colleagues to pick up a few phrases but can use very little Mandarin. I want to be able to converse in Mandarin, with an emphasis on business interactions. I'm not sure how much time I can devote, given my travel schedule but this is a priority for me. Being immersed in the culture during my trips will help me apply the learnings.
