I am 26 and would like to start to learn Mandarin. Traditional and simplified writing as well. I have spent a few months in Taiwan and would like to go back there with a good understanding of Mandarin. However, I would like to learn more mainland (Bejing) pronunciation cause I was told that it would be more versitile. I live in Washington DC and would like someone who is nice, friendly, and patient. =) I am willing to dedicate a lot of time and I am a hard worker. Also, I do have a very limited experience with Japanese... Even though Mandarin is my focus, if I can learn more Japanese.. that would be great.

I studied Mandarin in Monterey, CA for about a year and a half, in an intense course. I, unfortunately , haven't spoken, read, listened to, or thought in Chinese for over a year. My vocabulary skills have seriously depleted in that time, and I am sure my pronunciation is also suffering. I am looking to gain back my valuable skill in a quick and efficient manner, for my current job and any possible future career opportunities .
