I am interested in learning other languages for travelling and possibly working abroad.
My native tongue is English but grew up in a household where Slovak and Ukranian were spoken by my parents. I am able to understand many slavic languages when they are spoken but am hesitant to speak because my grammar is weak. Thinking and translating from english to slovak is a problem for me.
I would like to spend a minimum of 3 hrs. per week of instruction, possibly more.

I am trying to learn the Slovak language. I have relatives there and would like to communicate with them in their language. I have a few books and I am trying to teach myself but am looking for someone to help with speaking and the proper pronunciation of the words and understand how to write properly as well. I am definitley a beginner. Any kind of help will be appreciated.

I am a beginner, with little knowlegde of the language, but my father is slovak and lives in Bratislava so i recognise some of it. I want to learn Slovak so I can understand him when he speaks to friends etc. and because I am part Slovak so would like to speak my family's language. I would dedicate a few hours a week to slovak, once I have organised when i am available with a teacher. I would not mind what my teacher was like, as long as they were friendly.
