I'm currently in Berlin, with hopes of learning German well enough to read and translate some literature and philosophy. Currently, I'm a doctoral candidate studying modernist literature and art. I'm just beginning to learn German, and what I've learned so far I've picked up informally from self-teaching and Rosetta stone. Ideally, I'm looking for something that might simulate an intensive course--a few hours a day. An emphasis on translation would be great, however, I would like very much to improve my speaking as well.

Dear Madam, Dear Sir,
I will be in Berlin for 5 weeks, from July 25 to August 29, with the explicit goal of achieving fluency in German. I already understand quite a bit, given that my native language is Dutch.
I am looking for teachers that can teach 2-3 hours in the morning. It could be one, two, three, four or five mornings in the week. My goal is to be able to communicate properly in German, to read German literature (Kafka, Kant, Hesse, ...) and to be able to research my Jewish family history in Berlin.

I moved to Berlin in April for work. I have undertaken several group lessons, but feel I could progress quicker with private lessons. I am a beginner with little previous experience of German.
Ideally I would like to have at least two classes a week, which would cover all aspects of German (grammar, conversation etc).
I would like a teacher that is patient, but that is able to keep me challenged.
