Description |
I'm interested in learning Russian because I'm interested in traveling through parts of the world that speak Russian as a lingua franca (Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, other ex-soviet republics) and since I can already speak a little bit (albeit a miniscule amount) I want to further this knowledge. I know the Cyrillic alphabet by heart, and I know how to conjugate most verbs, but in general I need help in all areas (particularly in using the cases) and my vocabulary is very, very basic. I can dedicate practically every day of the week to lessons as I don't work. Intensive one or two hour lessons would be best. Most importantly I need the teacher to be able to speak English fluently. He/she needs to be helpful and encouraging, I'd also like to apply the knowledge being learned to the real world. So I'd love to learn some slang or colloquial Russian that you might not learn from a formal class.

Hi, my name is Alex Steinberg. I am German, but speak several languages. I am planning to travel to Georgia by next week, likely Tiblis , and would like to start studying Russian language.
How fast could you accommodate me? If I arrive next week, would you have a one-on-one teacher for me (and accommodation )? My idea would be to have 2 hours of classes in the morning and 2 hours of classes in the late afternoon to allow me to do home work and do private study in between. 5 days per week
I may stay in Georgia for several months, even look for work later. But initially, of course, I would like to test your teaching/ school (and housing) for a couple weeks, before deciding on staying longer.
Ch ristmas will be coming up soon, can you guarantee me housing? Would there be one-on-one teachers available during the Christmas season?
Ca n you arrange for long-term housing? For all the above, please provide me with clear prices! . P lease provide me with detailed information as I need to make a decision very quickly. Thank you for your effort in advance.
W arm regards,
A lex Steinberg PS: In 1993 I had already been to Russia and the Ukraine. I studied a lot of grammar, but cannot say many words anymore. Initially, I will need to refresh the very basics again: pronunciation , basic vocabulary, basic sentences. Throughout the weeks I should be able to remember things I have studied before. After reaching a reasonable level I could switch to a group class.

Description |
I'm learning Russian, as I'm living in the Crimea where Russian is main language. My wife is also Russian, and my two children also speak Russian (alhtough they communicate with me in English).
I want to improve my Russian so I can converse with people socially, I am currently missing out by not speaking Russian.
I also currently have work in countries where Russia is widely spoken as 2nd language (Georgia), and I may have the opportunity to work in Russia soon. My work is in English, but it would be an advantage to speak Russian.
I am currently a begginer, i need to develop my vocab which currently is too small, so I can converse with native speakers. I also need to pratcise speaking as my listening and speaking skills are not very good.
I normally work long hours, so I would hope for 1 or 2 hours worth of lessons a week, with a small amount of acheivable homework.
I need a teacher that can be patient with me. Languages are not my strong point.
