I want to learn Cantonese to better connect with my family.
I would say I'm a little better than a beginner. I can listen to some casual conversations about certain topics, but my vocabulary and grasp of grammar concepts is tenuous at best.
I want to improve by learning vocabulary and improving upon my sentence structures.
I want to dedicate perhaps an hour a week to language lessons. If the teacher recommends more I will consider this.
I want my teacher to be knowledgeable , and capable of helping me improve my ability to speak the language (get the pronunciation correct!).

I am looking for one on one Cantonese instruction. Previously, I had taken levels 1 and 2 Mandarin instruction through U of T with success. We also studied traditional characters which I feel gives me a good base to begin learning Cantonese. I have traveled to Hong Kong several times in the past few years out of interest, and my partner and his family speak Cantonese. In terms of my learning objectives, I would like to take lessons once or twice per week in order to become proficient in speaking, writing, and texting. I would also prefer making a more long-term commitment to my learning as I would like to become proficient.

I would like to learn some cantonese for my future career development. As a beginner, I wish to learn cantonese in daily conversation. I'm not sure how much time I would like to spend on learning totally, but I hope I can have three to five hours on a weekly base for the first month. Although my native language is Chinese, I have very little knowledge of conversing in cantonese. I want to be able to use it as a career advancement and to communicate with my family members.
