I started learning Sanskrit at a School in Melbourne which I am not involved with any more. Basically I fell in love with the language and wish to continue my studies.
I have been learning Sanskrit for 4 year now. I have learnt the Alphabet and can string and translate basic sentences. I would not say I am a beginner but by no means am I well advanced in Sanskrit. I was studying SANDHI rules and translating scripture with my last teacher.
I need much improvement in grammer and conversation.
I would like to participate 1.5 to 2 contact hours per week and spend much time with homework.
I would like a teacher who can read and write Sanskrit. One who knows the Grammer as well

This is out of personal interest. I have done post-graduate studies in music looking at Sanskrit rhythms and my father also spoke Sanskrit as he was born in India.
I'm interested in understanding a little bit of the history of the language and I understand it's a very hard language to try and teach yourself.
I' m just looking for the occasional lesson, around once every two/three weeks around Eastern Suburbs/Inner West Sydney.

hi, i am pretty much beginner, ya i had studied little bit of sanskrit at schol level when i was in india but i am not in india anymore. among the several reasons, the primary reason behind leaning sanskrit language is i want to understand the meanings of those holy mantras like gayatri mantra or ya shiva tandav stotram. and further more i like to learn different languages. till date i can speak 5 languages and will soon learn one more apart from sanskrit. hence i want to learn this beautiful language.
