I wish to learn new languages to give myself more value in the job markets. My proficiency level is beginner. I am sure that i will need help in all of the area, i am a motaviated learner and wish better my self. I would like to dedicate as much time as needed to help me to be the best at what i learned. I am a doctor moving to Sweden in 2 years, with swedish roots on my fathers's side. Beginner. I hold MA in Literature and Language from St.-Petersbur g University. Live in New York for the last 20 years. I need to learn the language the traditional way. Grammar, pronounc., sint., etc. I have to be fluent in Swedish (spoken and written) in 2 years.

1. Why: My husband is a Swedish citizen and has lived in the states now for 14 years. We have two daughters that we want to learn Swedish. I too need to learn so that we can be two parents in the household helping teach them.
2. Proficiency: Definitely beginner.
3. Areas of Improvement: All. We travel to Skane at least every two years so we want to learn conversationa l Swedish but also want our girls to learn how to read and write the language as they get older since this is their heritage.
4. Time: Our daughters are 6 years old and 21 months old so for now we are looking at my 6 year old as the primary learner (and me too!). At 6 I think her attention span would be good for 1 hour sessions unless there is a classroom type instruction with other kids or a summer type camp for other types of stimulation.
5. Qualities: I really would like an instructor that is great with children. One who has mutiple teaching techniques (ie. workbooks, songs, games, etc.) I also would like a teacher who is comfortable with me volunteering my time to help in the classroom or learn along side with my girls.

I am a beginner in Swedish and want to learn more in order to be able to speak it with my Swedish boyfriend and his family. I would like to learn how to better conjugate words and perfect my grammar in both speaking and writing. I would like to spend 2-3 hours a week studying and am interested in a teacher who is patient and offers workbook-styl e study material. A teacher who speaks a romance language would be a plus!
