I wish to learn Indonesian as I hope to one day live and run a business in Bali. As most Balinese speak Indonesian as well as Balinese, it seems the practical choice. However, the Balinese refer to Indonesian as 'internationa l indo' which makes me wonder if there are various dialects, so I want to make sure I learn the Indonesian spoken in Bali. It would also be nice if I could learn a little Balinese along the way. I also want to learn to read and write Indonesian. I am a complete beginner, knowing about 10 words. I am open to one on one as well as small group classes, and don't mind some online classes, but believe a certain amount of personal time is optimal. I am looking for one or two classes per week, or 2-4 hours, depending on location and cost. I live in Springvale South and would not be able to travel as far as the city more than once a week, so if anyone is able to meet at, say, a library anywhere in the south east, this would be perfect for me. However, it necessary, I can travel to the city at least once a week. I have complete flexibility with class time - any time daytime, evening or weekends is fine. It does not matter to me if my teacher is a qualified/exp erienced teacher, only that he/she is fluent and I can understand what I am being taught - which only a few lessons will tell. For this reason, I'm not willing to sign up and pay for a long period of time. I am quite happy to pay in advance for a few lessons until I can decide if it works for me. My plans are long term and I am serious about reaching proficiency so I am committed to studying in my own time as I understand lessons alone won't make me fluent.

Would like to renew my knowledge of Hindi as I was born in India and brought up in and around Calcutta and Darjeeling and went to school there. My father and husband worked in the jute mills beside the Hoogly. Also would like to revisit places in West Bengal and possibly Mumbai, Pune and Agra.
I learnt Bengali and Hindi in my boarding schools, but am more comfortable with Hindi. I would only speak coloquial (bazaar) Hindi until I was 3.
I can still remember some of the words and recognise some of the alphabet, but need improvement in grammar especially, and writing - would love to be able to read and write Hindi again confidently.
I am a mature aged student looking for a challenging subject to occupy my mind and time. Over the past 11 years I have attended computer classes studying various applications and aspects of the computer. Now I would like to try a new challenge, renew my love of India and revisit the places of my childhood and teen years.
I can dedicate two days a week (mor if needed) to studying Hindi.
I am looking for an understanding , experienced teacher, preferably female and possibly from West Bengal, who will guide me back to all things India.
