INITIALLY I WAS SPOKEN TO AS A CHILD SINCE MY FATHER CAME FROM SLOVAKIA. THIS WAS DISCOURAGED BY THE SCHOOL SYSTEM. I DO HAVE SOME KNOWLEDGE BUT RECENTLY VISITED SLOVAKIA BECAUSE MY FATHER'S DESCENDANTS ARE STILL THERE. I WANT TO RETURN AND BE ABLE TO COMMUNICATE WITHOUT HAVING AN INTERPRETOR. We are absolute beginners, but wish to learn the Slovak language so as to be able to converse in her native language with our daughter-in-l aw. Although she speaks fluent English we feel obliged to make some effort in the reverse direction.
Therefore, we would like some instruction on a personal basis, having failed to discipline ourselves with the set of tapes which we acquired some years ago.
We are based in Crewe, Cheshire, but are able and prepared to travel for at least a short distance to receive regular tuition.
