My purpose for learning Chinese is to allow for the possibility of future work with the developing Chinese space program.
I have no experience with the Chinese language.
A few hours per week (~5) would be anticipated for language lessons.

My wife and I are moving to Castres to live. My French is poor, although my wife's is better. I need to improve my French quickly so that I can perform everyday tasks with confidence. This will be my primary objective when we arrive soon after 1 April. I believe that an intensive programme of perhaps five half-days every week (either one-to-one or in a small group) would be the best way to learn. All suggestions gratefully received.
