I am learning Portuguese because I was in Brazil a couple years back and fell in love with the culture, country and the language. I am going back in the winter and staying there for 7 - 12 months and want to quick start learning the language.
I know spanish so Portuguese comes easy for me. I am probably still considered a beginner, however I am a fast learner and am eager to learn a lot!
I would want to dedicate at least an hour a week to language lessons, if not more. Depending on cost...
Qu alities I am looking for in a teacher: someone who knows what I'm doing and will really just be able to conversate with me!

I am learning a foreign language for career advancement. I took French from grade 4 to 12 so I think once I start again it will al come back, at least that is my hope. I will be traveling to Japan in June 2011, and was hoping to be able to speak enough Japanese to be respectful while I am there. I will also be going into the Travel and Tourism industry in the near future and I believe that the knowledge of at least basic Japanese would be an asset! I am at the beginner level. I am unsure of my schedule at the moment, as I will be starting school at the end of the month, but I am willing to devote as much time as possible to learning the language. I am looking for a patient and understanding teacher, who also challenges me.

I want to learn Swahili because I plan to visit Africa in a year and a half. I am a beginner I know very few words. I am hoping to join a class for lessons and hopefully twice a week for at least an hour class. I am looking for a teacher who's first language is Swahili and can teach it to me in english, someone with a good solid lesson plan I can follow, and homework.

I met the love of my life and he is from Portugal. I am planning to visit his family in Portugal and would love to know some Portuguese before I go there.
I have little knowledge of the language as Joao speaks very good english. I would love to learn basic portuguese communication first then maybe I can work towards more fluent speaking.
