I have recently been accepted for Teach for China and need to learn basic Mandarin before going (I leave in July2012). I have no prior experience in Mandarin and would be a beginner. I would like to focus more on conversation and understanding . Lessons two-three times a week for a couple of hours would most likely be good. Hello,
I am living in Jerusalem Israel. I have a 7 year old daughter who is bright and adept at picking up languages. I would like for her to take private lessons with a native Chinese speaker.
I also have a 13 year old daughter who wishes to learn as well.
Maybe they can learn together 1-2 times a week in my home in Jerusalem for whatever time the teacher deems reasonable.

I want to become fluent in Chinese and take second or third year Chinese next fall. I will be studying it intensively until this summer when I plan to take courses or have a tutor in to meet with all summer for about 20 hours a week (about three months). I will not go to Orlando if I do not find a good, affordable tutor. I'm willing to spend about $4000 for the three months and would be able to pay it all up front. I would like to meet with the tutor in the Orlando public library, but the location is negotiable. The price may be negotiable too, depending.

I have studied Mandarin for a while by myself. I lived and taught Engish in Wuhan for about a year and a half, but didn't learn much. The students wanted me to speak English. I have gotten about as far as I can on my own and now need help. I use LingQ.com as my main source of lessons. Thanks.
