I am seeking a tutor for beginner Sanskrit. I want to be able to read, write, and converse after studying for a year or two. I have been using some home study courses, but I need a teacher to whom I will be accountable for assignments and to whom I can ask questions and have my pronounciatio n checked, etc.
I have wanted to learn Sanskrit for many years, but put it off as being impractical. However, I am now in a position where I can focus on learning the language. I am a meditator and want to be able to read sacred literature in its native language. Eventually, if I have an aptitude for this, I would love to find a way to teach or write utilizing these linguistic skills.
I can spend up to five hours a week studying. I would like to start with one lesson a week via Skype or some other video or audio method. The best teacher for me would have an organized curriculum and strong ability to communicate complex information clearly. I am hoping for a responsive iand professional instructor who has worked with beginners and students in the US.

I'm a regular practitioner of Yoga, Pranayama and Meditation. I involve myself in reading commentaries of great scriptures and being in the company of the wise.
I already know about 6 languages and In this pursuit I would like to continue my learning of Sanskrit to enable me to read scriptures directly.
I'm primarily looking for a strong support and guidance in the teacher. Preferably online (telephone/vo ice/video/text chat). I can commit about 2-3 hours a week in this learning.
Specifically I'd like to read/write/co nversation/gra mmar in Sanskrit.
I do have a strong background in Hindi & Marathi and very comfortable with Devanagari script.

I am a student of Indiana philosophy. I love Kirtan and listening to the language in general. I have learned a little simply by going to yoga classes and Kirtans, and my own study. I'm still a beginner. I need improvement in all areas. I could go to a class once a week and have homework, etc. I need the traditional class instead of on-line only or reading or listening to lessons. I need the full immersion of a a classroom.
