I am staying in Singapore since Mar04. I am an Indian and know my native language (bengali), hindi (national language) and english. I am an economist by profession. At present I am working in a local bank of singapore. Hence i want to learn mandarin. I want to start from very basics. this will help me to mix-up better with my collegues and friends. I want to spend 1-2 hours once a week (weekdays after 7:30 p.m.) to learn the language. I would prefer if the teacher can come personally at my place (i stay near newton) or else I dont mind going somewhere near raffles place or near my house. Please help me.

Took beginners French in Alliance Francaise for a year. Took the DELF A1 examination in year 2000. Should be in the intermediate level now and been learning it on and off.
Learn ing French because wanting to talk the DELF examination and perhaps the DALF (if I am that capable) and also to converse when holidaying in France.
