We live and work in Eastwood city,Libis.
We would like to learn Tagalog so that it's possible to converse with the people around us.
Work hours are weeknights so it will be possible for us to take classes on weekends.

Dear would-be teacher,
MY name is Chris Kessler and I am a social science researcher. My institute is partnering with a research institution here in the Philippines and I am responsible for this research project. I do not necessarily need to learn tagalog for my job, but I would like to be able to communicate with the staff not only in English. As 'real business' will be conducted in English, I primarly want to be able to do a bit of small talk with people I meet during the course of my work and stay here in the Philippines. I am currently in Metro Manila, will stay until Ocotober 7th and be back in the Philippines in January next year. The schedule is not yet decided upon, but between January and May 2006 I will spent 2 to 4 month in Quezon City. As I do normally work 'business hours' I would need to attend evening lessons or a somewhat flexible teacher in terms of scheduling the lessons during the day. I am also very willing to learn in a small group of motivated student.
As speaking Tagalog is not part of my work, I have to cover expenses myself, which means I cannot pay 'company rates'. I thought of something between 500 and 1000 Peso per hour, depending on class size, timeframe, location etc.

I am a Filipino-Cana dian who was born in Canada. I understand Filipino only slightly, and can speak very basic Tagalog, however, I am looking to become fluent in a month. I need improvement in all areas of language, however, I am a fast learner and have alot of time to learn. I can dedicate several hours a day to learning, with some time spent in teaching and some time spent doing exercises on my own. I am looking for a patient teacher, who is kind and understanding with my mistakes, but who is also firm enough to correct me when I am wrong. I am hoping that my teacher will understand how important it is for me to be proficient in Tagalog, as it is my family's language, and I would like to use it when I return to Canada to further myself personally and within my employment.

I am a beginner, I know very little of the langauge. Pretty much, jut the words for being proper, by saying thank you, your welcome and so on. I am a college student right now at Asia Pacific College. A much time that I can so I can pick up the language and be speaking it with my roommates and understand what they say to me so I can join in on converstation and not always having to have them explain what they said in English. Someone who is pateince and can understand that learn a language is not that easy for me.
