I am an extreme beginner, I am learning for mostly personal reasons, I'd like to get up and running as quickly as possible, but in the end I'd like to be able to carry on a normal conversation. I can devote a few hours a week to lessons, and any more time as need for study. I would prefer the teacher to be a native speaker, with knowledge of Ukrainian culture as well if at all possible.

I would like to brush up my russian, which i have learnt at school, but due to lack of practice (over 20 years) have forgotten. I used to speak very well when I was a child. Russian was easy to learn as a I am native speaker of a slavic language (czech). I would like to improve my communication skills. I am planning to spent 2 weeks in Riga (in december 2009) and would like to use this time as efficiently as possible to improve my russian. I can afford to pay 1000 pounds. I would prefare a private teacher who would be able to concentrate on my personal needs.
