I am interested in learning a bit of
Portugues e, as I will be travelling in
Portugal during June 2005. At present I do not know any Portuguese. My native language is English, I studied Latin and
Russian during secondary school and Russian at university. I can also understand a little Spanish, Italian, and German from travel and listening to opera and can speak rudimentary Hebrew. I am a university lecturer and a quick learner, but I do not have a really good ear for pronunciation and learn better if I can read as well as listen, at least at first. I am prepared to spend one hour per week in lessons between now and June, possibly a bit more during the first weeks of June, and also as much time as is needed to review and prepare lessons. I do not have any fixed ideas about what setting would best or what qualities I would like in a teacher.

Hello,
I need to learn Brazilian Portuguese. Im a beginner. I have been to Brazil, 2 years ago for one month. I will be returning to Brazil in December 2005. My partner is from Brazil, and we will be traveling about once a year. I want to learn so we can spend more time there with his family. Im from California, and speak english. I want to dedicate alot of time learning. Depending on price.. I would like to have one lesson a week or 2 lessons a week.. or more depending on the overall recommendatio ns. Im looking for a teacher familiar with brazilian portuguese. Thanks :)
