I lived in China for 2 years, but I think I have forgotten nearly all the Mandarin that I learnt. So, I guess I would be a beginner orintermediat e, maybe?
I want to learn, because I may travel back out to China and work in business.
Time-wise, probably 2 hours or so a week, but it depends on how much I can afford!
I want the lessons to be practical and relevant to real life, not just dated text book examples, and an emphasis on speking I think.

I am a beginner at spanish, and would like to learn as much as i can in less than a year, so in the summer of 2004, i can go to bolivia with a greater understanding of their language. I have been studying mandarin chinese for 2 years but have very basic knowledge of the language. I have spent 9 weeks in China last summer and enjoyed the country and culture a lot.
I want to learn chinese because I want to work in a company which has business relations with China, so as to be able to go there for work.
I am thinking about taking two lessons of two hours each per week.
I would like a teacher who can help me improve my conversation, vocabulary, reading and writing.
I would also like to find a teacher that do not live too far from the center of the city.
