Beginner - I don't speak a word of Portuguese, but I've done years of Spanish, if that helps any.
Program requirements - I am taking a program that requires language studies. Also, career advancement is a reason. I hope to start working in December, and Brazil is one option.
I want to dedicate 3 months to the lessons, that's how long I have in this program. I will however continue to study once I have completed the lessons.
I need a patient teacher. I've heard some languages that make sounds that are not familiar to only english speakers. I have friends who can't understand that I never learnt to use my deep throat to form words. I am very determined to learn, but I will make mistakes. My teacher must understand that.

Hello, my wife and i wish to learn conversationa l portuguese. My wife knows how to speak very basic portuguese and wishes to become more fluent and also wants to read and write. I would need to start from beginner level. we would like to start with an hours lesson each a week and see how we go. we would prefer a teacher who would be able to teach us at home as we have a small child, but this is not a necessity.

I'm an absolute beginner with the Portuguese language. I would need to start learning from the very basics.
I go to the Algarve usually at least twice a year and love the place. I would be very interested in living in Portugal if the opportunity ever arose, and of course, learning Portuguese would be of paramount importance in this.
I would be very willing to learn with a lesson every week and can dedicate a few hours each week to homework.
I would be looking for a teacher who is willing to teach to groups as I have friends also willing to learn. They must be patient, but willing to push me to work hard. They must be clear, concise and bring some fun to the lessons.
