I am half greek and would like to learn to speak the language in order to communicate with family and friends. I visited Greece last year and was quite frustrated with my inability to speak the language. I have some basic knowledge of the language (ie. salutations, common questions and answers, etc.) and a basic understanding of the Greek alphabet. I need improvement in every area, though, for i wish to be able to speak it as i do my second language, which is French. I am willing to dedicate an hour per week on my language lessons, specifically on monday nights. I am looking for a teacher who has excellent knowledge of the language, and who is patient- someone who will help guarantee my success, in addition to my own willingness!

I don't know a word of Slovenian and would love to learn the language and all about the culture. I have been to Slovenia once, I'm of Italian Heritage and I want to go back and revisit slovenia this upcoming summer. I'm a BIG BEGINNER I have to start from the beginning like a child would! Unfortunately the one Slovenian Language Teacher I knew of (or was told of) passed away and since then no one has stepped forward to teach this very difficult but much appreciated language! I would like to be able to communicate better with my second family, and once I visit them again I would love to be able to get to know eachother so much better! I would dedicate once a week, twice a week and maybe even three times a week to learning this language. I'm very flexible and would discuss this with the teacher! I'm looking for a teacher who is patient, kind, knowledgable in how to TEACH a language and not simply able to speak it. I'm interested in a teacher who would have the patience with someone who hasn't heard a word of the language or spoke it ever! It's very very extremely foreign to me and I want to be able to speak it fluently within a year's time.
Think it's possible?
Anyone up for the challenge!!!! ???
