Description |
Hi, my name is Tureiti:) I was born & raised in New Zealand with my mother. But I am half Turkish. I only just recently met my birth father last year. He is kurd/turk. Since then I have been on an incredible journey of cultural discovery. I even went to Turkey!! There I spent three months travelling the entire country and spending a lot of that time with family in small villages, mostly without english speakers. So I had to learn the basics... but in all I am at a beginner level, and the longer i leave it the less I remember... i guess what i'm trying to say is that I have a exceptional reason and will to learn. It would mean a lot to me to be able to properly converse with those loved ones in Turkey, especially since I intend to revisit often and when the time is right...maybe try out a year or so in Istanbul.
In terms of my skill level- I know some basic everyday words. I can read and pronounce words easily. I've attempted grammar but It confuses the hell out of me...this is what i'd need to focus on most- grammar and conversation. In terms of the tutor- I'd be looking for one or two lessons, in person, per week, somewhere in or near Fitzroy. I'm looking for a tutor who is not only passionate about my reason for learning Turkish, but is able to guide me in a tailored and efficient manner to an expert level of Turkish.
H ope to hear from you soon.
