I'm a beginner. Would like to learn to converse with my boyfriend of a year in Urdu, and be able to understand his family when they are speaking in Urdu. Also, would eventually like to teach my future kids. I would like to spend maybe an hour a day learning, but would follow the recommendatio ns of my teacher. I am studying Japanese as part of this major, and Chinese as part of my minor field of study. I am basically just wanting to learn a few languages, first choices would be Spanish, French, and Arabic. I am a beginner, knowing very little or none of either language. I want to learn foriegn language because I like to be able to understand people from other countries and also because I run into foriegn speaking customers in my line of work. It would be nice to be able to communicate with them. I would be able to dedicate a few to several hours a week to learning a language. At this time, I don't know what I am looking for exactly in an teacher, but I tend to learn best in a 'hands on' environment. Tend to need a bit of structure when learning. WILLING TO TRAVEL...Look ing at either Minneapolis or Chicago, but prefer Rochester, MN.
