I learnt German for nine years in school and also went to Germany in 2004 as part of a school exchange program. However since I have graduated my knowledge for the language has slipped away and I need to get it back, I spent nine years learning it and it is too precious to me to simply give up. It would also help when I speak to my host parents (who speak minor English).
I also would like to learn French, something I've wanted to do for years. I have never learnt French though so I would have to start from the beginning.

I would like to learn Afrikaans to speak to wife in her native tongue.
My understanding is intermediate, my spoken is beginner, my written is beginner.
Co nverstaion, vocab, grammar.
1 hr/ wk with tutor and 2 hrs/wk self study
I would like to keep learning until I can hold a proper converstaion, so mayne this is about 30 to 40 lessons (so about 3/4 of a year)
