i have always wanted to learn german because i am in love with germany's history, literature and schools of thought. now that i am working in a very predominantly german company (everyone is german- i'm american) i think it would be the right time to take advantage of this situation because i could practice quite alot all day at work. i would like to dedicate as much time as possible (a few times a week for a couple of hours at a time) but that would also depend on cost.. i'm very much a beginner (on a scale of 1-10, i would be a 1.5) so i'll need to start from scratch.

I want to learn chinese because that's where the economy's going and I want to go with it. I have absolutely no prior knowledge about Chinese. I want to be proficient in speaking, reading and writing Chinese. I want to reach that goal within one year, and I know I can do it because I'm a fast learner. I am interested in exploring various languages before my application to university. I have taken a gap year in order to learn,improve ,and master certain key languages and dialects that I believe help me to becoming a more competitive applicant.
I have a whole year for improving in desired fields however I prefer to learn as much as possible in as little time as possible. I have no restrictions of time (ie school, or other obligations) therefore my main concentration is on ameliorating my proficiency and fluency in languages.
