Description |
I've been studying Japanese for a little over 4 years now. I also lived in Japan for one year and studied at a language school there, however I still think I need lots of improvement and practice.
I'd like to be able to watch some Japanese TV Drama without subtitles, and to be honest would love to be able to pass the 1 kyuu level of the JLPT someday.
I 'm now back in Canada, and although my girlfriend is Japanese and lives with me, we speak English a lot when we're together so my Japanese level is sort of staying the same or maybe even getting rusty.
I'd consider my level intermediate or for conversation ability and beginner in terms of writing / reading ability.

Hi, first of all I would to introduce myself. My name is Kia Meng.
I believe that interests is a motivation to finish the job. Its just like your dream job, if you are interested in a job, it only requires only a part of your energy to complete it. To me, learning a language is the same. I picked Korean as a language I look forward to learn as I'm extremely interested in speaking that language. In addition, I do not plan on staying in Singapore for the rest of my life. Migrating to Korea is a choice, however, I must master their language before becoming one of them.
Thro ugh watching Korean programs and listening to Korean songs, I learned some basic words. However, I'm still incapable of forming sentences. To be honest, I'm not even confident when I pronounce those words as I'm afraid it sounds wrong. Korean is new to me.
Being 17 this year, I'm studying in Ngee Ann Polytechnic- Business Studies. Therefore, my schedule might be tight in weekdays. However, I'm willing to sacrifice time with my friends at weekends to master this language. I'm willing to spend 3 hours straight per lesson if the timing is perfect for me.
It would help if the lesson is fun and interesting for me. I believe that I might learn better that way. If possible, I would prefer if every lesson happens at different places/classr oom. A change in environment is always good, perhaps it might generate a memory boost for students. Every student would want an ideal teacher. All I expect from my teacher is that he/she would be friendly to students, show no favoritism to any students and lastly to be fairly professional, in other words, not to mix personal life with teaching.
Thank you

Description |
I have been studying Japanese for the past 7 years, but it is constantly on and off. For the past year, I have taken Japanese 101 & 102 up in Boulder and I have loved every second of it! I love being in a structured plan instead of an individual study plan. Sadly, I am changing schools where they do not offer Japanese, so I want to find a tutor so I can continue my studies. I believe I am a little better than a beginner, but I would love to review to make sure I am proficient. I need help with listening and speaking japanese. I feel that I write it very well, but I cannot always hear it and it's hard for me to create sentences verbally. I would love to spend 2 or 3 hours a week in person studying japanese with my tutor. I would like a tutor who always has a plan with their lesson and doesn't just come to see what will happen. I want to work on my speaking skills, but not all the time, as I would like to also be able to create sentences and learn kanji. So, learning sentence structure would be great! I want my tutor to be patient and professional. Any sort of handout or lesson/homewo rk would be great as well.
