My name is Kaye and I am a journalist for Time Out Middle East.
I would very much like to run a leader on learning arabic in the Art and Culture section of the forthcoming Time Out Muscat guide which would be great coverage and exposure for your organization.
Myself and the rest of the Time Out editorial team, will be coming to Muscat next week (Jan 13)if it's possible to arrange a lesson for a beginner then? I am looking to experience just one lesson - the angle being that visitors to Muscat will benefit from learning a few arabic words and phrases...

I am an intermediate reader and a lower intermediate speaker. I have studied four years of Arabic in America, but am rusty. I need to raise my level of Arabic so that I can do my research. I am a doctoral student in the US studying environmental history of the southeastern Gulf states.
I would like to spend about 4 hours a day in lessons for 4 weeks this summer 2008.
I am looking for a teacher who can help me create a specialized vocabulary based on documents and the environment. I would like to emphasize reading comprehension and vocabulary building. I would also like to emphasize my speaking skills. I have studied the Levantine dialect, but I would like to learn Gulf Arabic as well.
