I would like to learning this foreign language, because I'm part Ethiopian and wanted to better understand the culture. There is no better way to understand the culture then to learn the language and writings.
My goal is to become conversationa l and literate.
I could do 5 hours a week of studying.
The qualities I like most in a teacher is consistency as well as good study materials.

I am very very eager to learn Amharic and Tigrinya. My parents haven't really pushed it on me because I have spent most of my time trying to help them with their english. I want to surprise my parents with being fluent in their language. I really reall would love to be able to take my parents to ethiopia and not just stand there and look stupid as I meet their family. I would like to find a teacher to teach my four year old child Amharic. My father is from Ethiopia but I do not speak the language. I have always regretted not learning and would like my daughter to learn to speak, read and write Amharic so she can communicate with family members here and in Ethiopia. My daughtetr would be a beginner of course. I would like to dedicate this summer possibly continuing into the fall for lessons. I would like a teacher whose native tongue is Amharic and has experience working with children. I would like the lessons to be fun and age appropiate for my child.
