Dear Sir / Madam,
It is because Russia is a potential market, Two weeks ago, I was in Moscow to meet my customers. I need to learn and understand Russian so as to expand my business opportunities there. I come from Hong Kong and spend 3 days a week to sit for project meetings with my Chinese colleaques in our Shenzhen Factory. So, I can use my evening time to learn Russian in Shenzhen. I am just a beginner with strong enthusiam to learn more about this language and this Country (Russia). Preferrably, I would like to be taught by a Russian girl/woman/ma n.

My level with Russian is at the very beginning stages. I am still working independently on reading and writing Cyrillic letters.
I want to learn Russian because I am an English teacher and have had several exchange students from Russia, the Ukraine, and Georgia and really treasured the experience. One of these students nominated me to a teacher exchange program through the State Department; however, I could not participate because I lacked any training in Russian. I would one day like to participate more fully in the program and work more with Russian students both in the U.S. and in Russia.
The areas in which I need improvement are all: grammar, conversation, etc. I wish to move beyond 'eta Mockba,' and 'mama doma.'
As far as the lessons themselves, I am somewhat flexible in the Summer time; however, during the school year an hour a week in person may be the most I can do. I am aware from studying French in the past that the more practice one has the easier it is to learn the language.
Th e qualities I am looking for in a teacher would be patience and a sense of loving the language they are teaching. I would also like to feel a cultural connection with the language that I am studying.

Dear Natalia,
I am an English corporate lawyer seeking a teacher for private Russian lessons in Amsterdam. I have worked in Moscow for a year in 2004 (four months) and 2006 (nine months) and I return to Russia for work on a regular basis as much of the my work involves Russian clients and companies.
Although I have had some basic lessons in London and Moscow in the past, my Russian is very limited and does not extend much past pleasantries and basic sentences and grammar. I am looking to expand my vocabulary, learn Russian grammar and to be able to make basic conversation in Russian in the long term. I will not need to read or write much in Russian, although I can remember most of the Cirylic alphabet and can read phonetically in Russian.
D epending on the cost, I would be looking to have one or two hours of private lessons per week and I can currently dedicate about three to four hours per week to studying the language.
I am looking for a teacher who is patient and understands English grammar as well as Russian grammar. I can arrange lessons at any convenient place but I live near the Nieuwmarkt in Amsterdam and work near WTC in Amsterdam Zuid. I would hope that my teacher has a youthful sense of humour as learning a language can be difficult (especially for the English who tend to have neglected languages at school) and it is always easier if you can learn within a fun and happy atmosphere.
