I am a musician, and I sing a lot of bossa nova and samba material in brazilian portuguese. I have worked hard to try and translate every set of lyrics as best I can by looking up words and by piecing together the meaning of those words, but I would now like to learn about the grammar of Brazilian portuguese. I hope to eventually have a working knowledge of the language so that I can also carry on some conversations with people when we eventually visit Brazil. But my first most pressing need is to understand the songs I am singing accurately.
I can afford to spend about an hour a day on language study right now. I consider myself a beginner, though I have made stabs at Pimsleur CD learning.
I am looking for a teacher who presents the grammar in an organized way, and who is also open to answering questions I may pose about lyrics I don't understand.
Ideally, I would be interested in learning from a native speaker, and most ideally from someone who knows something about bossa nova and samba traditions. I realize this may be a lot to ask. But I may as well ask!

Proficiency level - Intermediate - I have already taken 2 semesters of Portuguese and I want to improve.
I want to major in Portuguese and Spanish in college and I´m looking to get a head start on Portuguese now.
I need improvement in conversations and would like to improve my grammar skills as well.
As far as time goes I would like to have 1-2 hour lessons maybe twice a week if possible.
I need a teacher that can be patient, dedicated and that has a sense of humor because I´m not the best at speaking Portuguese.
