I am interested in learing to speak (not write) Farsi. My girlfriend was born in Iran and speaks fluently and I am interested in learing to have the ability to converse with her and her family in their native language and also to keep my mind active.
I am a beginner. NOTE: Before taking any class whether online or in-person, I am wanting to know whether a Farsi teacher could recommend a book that I could review before instruction - to learn rote memory vocablulary and to get an idea where things were going. I feel that I learn better that way if I have possession of a lot of the vocabluary that can be done through memorization.
I have a full time 50+ hour job. I an open to suggestion about how much time needs to be spent per week to effectively learn.
I am interested in a teacher that would be patient, perhaps willing to teach in a group setting, and that could also teach about the Iranian culture as well.

I wish to learn Dari for my love of the language. It is one of the most beautiful languages and I would like to learn to speak it. I have some Persian friends and I picked up my liking for the language from them.
My proficiency level is beginners since I have never learnt this language except knowing a few words. I want to be able to converse in the language and want to focus on my conversationa l skills along with perfection in grammer. I would like to dedicate as much time as it takes to learn the language enough to speak it well. That can easily takes few months.
I want a teacher who can speak in hindi and english as well since that will help me understand better and aid in teaching. I would like a teacher who motivates me and keeps wanting me to do better and better. Since I reside in Mumbai, I would like to learn from someone who is teaches in Mumbai. If not, then an online video conferencing class is a good option.
