I am intending to move to Vang Vieng, Laos in a few years and would like to build as much language skill as possible before I arrive. As it is a tonal language, I feel it is important to have access to a native/fluent speaker to attempt to learn acceptable pronunciation . Lao will be challenging for a westerner I'm sure, but any vocabulary, pronunciation , and grammar skill I can ingest before hand are bound to be benificial.

I studied French previously from the ages of 15-22. By that time, I had reached an intermediate level of conversation and grammar. However, since it has been over 7 years since my last class, I feel I will need to go back and learn the basics as a refresher. I am also looking to study German (at the beginner level), both of these languages will be required in Graduate School for Art History which I plan to begin within the next year. I am looking for a teacher who is patient and places emphasis on conversation as well as grammar and translation. I am willing to dedicate 2 days per week for lessons, 3-5 hours per week.
