I have no experience with the language but I want to learn Russian as I am planning on visiting there within the next year or two on holiday. I need a teacher that has a flexible schedule as I work long hours. I am not sure how much time I am going to be able to spend on studying. I am a beginner of Russian, who knows the very basics. Greetings, Most of the Alphabet and few common verbs and phrases.
M y finace is Russian and has tried to teach me but I think that I need to learn from a third party as we are too easily distracted and most attempts to learn Russian properly end up in calamity.
I am serious about learning as her family do not all speak English and would very much like to hold my own conversation with them.
The areas I want to focus on are vocabulary and forming communicative sentances that are not necessarily grammatically correct, I feel that grammar is something that should be focused on in intermediate to advanced stages.
I am looking to spend a couple of hours a week, preferably weekday evenings and I am hoping that my teacher is quite laid back and not too argumentative .
