Aside from always having an interest in Arabic, I have lived and worked in various Gulf countries (Kuwait and UAE). More recently, I will be getting married to an Egyptian and would like to learn Egyptian Arabic.
I would like to start to learn Arabic from the most elementary level. Though I took an beginner's Arabic course in Kuwait 2 years ago and learned the script and a few words, I have forgotten almost everything.
I am looking to become particularly strong in conversationa l Egyptian Arabic, but am a highly visual learner and will need to work on the written for the classes to be effective.
I am looking for a highly structured approach (with materials and a curriculum) with lots of homework as I want to progress quickly. To start, I'm looking to work with a teacher on a one-to-one basis one hour per week. Evenings work best (Sundays and Mondays especially).
