I have completed 2 semesters of Arabic and I am wanting to continue study on an intermediate level. I have been studying the modern standard Arabic. I would like to be able to read the newspapers and travel to different parts of the Middle East. I need help in conversation and grammar. i know how to read and write arabic since i am muslim but i dont understand the meaning, i want to learn the understanding of what i am reading. i want to learn arabic in order to understand the quran in its arabic form to the extend it can be understood and hadiths. im willing to spend enough time needed to achieve this goal in not more than an year insha Allah. i want a muslim teacher who is willing to spend time with me (and another student) who loves to and is dedicated to teach this beautiful language insha Allah.

I am British, married to a Palestinian for hte last 30 yrs. We lived in Kuwait for 5 yrs late 1970's early '80's where i did learn a little coloquial arabic. My children however did not learn any, born and grown in Canada and we would all now like to learn just to appreciate the language and culture and to be able to converse as they do have Arab names. We are prepared to attend classes a couple of times a week or have private tuition at home if this can be arranged evenings or weekends.Than k you and regards Sally

My husband and I would like to learn Arabic as we are moving to Dubai later this year. We are complete beginners. Although we are not great linguists, we do have some experience in learning a foreign language (French and Russian).
We would be interested in a couple of lessons per week, if possible. The lessons would need to be in the evenings and/or weekends (or lunch times, if the teacher was able to come to us at our work place).
We would like to learn the 'alphabet' so we can read signs, but also focus on conversationa l arabic. We are open to suggestions on the best way to approach learning the language.
