I have a strong desire to achiebve fluency in Russian. My boyfriend is Russian, and I would like to obtain a grasp on the language from the ground up in a conventional learning environment. At present, I have been reading a few books I purchased, but I think that they can only serve as supplements to interactive learning from a trained instructor. I am willing to dedicate anywhere from an hour to two hours to each lesson. In terms of desirable qualities in a teacher, I am looking for someone that implements different techniques, is patient and consistent.

I would like a review of Russian and to become fluent. I'd say that I am rusty but have studied Russian at an intermediate level (university). I understand more than I can speak. I grew up in a Russian American family where I heard Russian quite a bit but was always made to answer in English. I have a good accent, and I've have spent a lot of time studying grammar but less time in conversationa l Russian. I want to be able to speak it much better than I do, so I can visit my relatives in Russia and better converse with them.

Ive been in a reletionship with a Russian man for 2 years. I have become really close with his family and friends, who are also Russian. It is really hard communicating with them in large groups because they'll speak thier language. We are also going back home this summer to Moscow to meet his father and grandparents. My goal is to learn the language not only to make it easier to understand them, but to understand the background and beable to interact with his family back home.

I am a beginner, who has learned some basic words in Russian. I am married to a Russian and I would like to be able to share with him his culture and a good way of doing that is learning his native tongue. I am South American and my mother tongue is Spanish, my husband learned Spanish to be able to communicate with me in my own language so I would like to reciprocate. Therefore my interest is to improve my conversation skills. I am prepared to dedicate a couple of hours a week in class and some 5 to 7 hours a week to study, due to a hectic work schedule it would be impossible to commit to more than that.
I am looking for a teacher who puts emphasis in conversation, however rudimentary, but I feel that if you don't practice the language you are trying to learn, and focus only in the grammar, it is very difficult to learn to express yourself in that language.
