My name is Andrew Hamilton and I am 26 year old insurance professional in Chicago, Illinois. My native language is English and I have previously taken Spanish classes in school. I would like to learn the Polish language so that I may carry on conversations with my girlfriend’s family in their native language. Also, I will be vacationing to Poland with my girlfriend to meet her extended family in Poland this summer. My proficiency in the Polish language is basically a blank slate; I know a few words that I have been able to learn on my own. I am looking to dedicate a couple hours a week, whether it is after work or on the weekend to learning this language.

I am looking for a teacher or a language program to help me along with my private study of Japanese. Learning a language independently creates a lot of barriers, so I would like a teacher to be the one guiding me.
I am still at a beginner level, and I would like to be fairly proficient within approximately two years, to enable me to become an English teacher in Japan once I graduate.
Since I am a college student, I would prefer to have my lessons either between two school classes (I have a 3 hour break several days a week), after school (in the evenings), or on weekends.
I am looking for a teacher who is strict, but not one that will get angry, or laugh at me for being wrong, or not turning in my homework. Someone that is easy to talk to and get along with would be best. Experience is a must, of course. References would be appreciated, but they are not necessary.
