I am an artist with an interest in Japanese papermaking. I'd like to travel to Japan to learn about papermaking. I took one semester of Japanese and am now enrolled in a similar intro class to review and build a stronger foundation. I would like to meet once or twice a week for an hour at a time. I would like a teacher that is flexible in their teaching style and can work with the two books that I am working and learning from.

I want to learn and become efficient in the use of the Japanese language due to upcoming vacation next in 2010 and hopefully I will attain employment in Japan, maybe at the US Embassy in Tokyo and another institution/f acilities. I am looking for a Language teacher who is willing to teach me Japanese. I want to learn Japanese for multiple reasons. I want to learn it for career advancement, I understand that it is beneficial to be able to speak more than one language in America and the other reason why I want to learn Japanese is because I want to participate in one of the Exchange Teacher programs where I go to Japan to teach English for a year or more. When I did this I would love to be fluent in the language before I applied to one of theses programs so improve my chances of being accepted and so that I can speak, read, and write before I get to Japan. Right now my proficiency level is beginner. I would love to be able to have lessons twice a week but once is OK. I would prefer a teacher that is a native speaker of the Japanese language.
