I am looking for a private tutor for my 15-year-old daughter. She is a bi-national (holding a Japanese passport) who wants to acquire at least conversationa l skills to better communicate with relatives and when she is travelling in Japan. She is essentially at the beginner level.
She is a 10th grader in a rigorous private school and studies take much of her time. One session, 1-2 hours long, once a week, with 1-3 hours of homework, may be the limit of what she can do, at least to start. Times available would be weekday afternoons from about 3:30 pm on and weekend afternoons.
I think my daughter would probably be the most comfortable with a younger female tutor with an open, friendly manner. A native speaker would be desirable but not a requirement.
