I am looking for a teacher with whom I can study beginning Modern Hebrew for five weeks, beginning approximately Dec 21, 2005. I currently am a Junior at University of Maryland and will be home for winter mini-session during that period. Specifically I need to learn the first ten chapters of HEBREW FROM SCRATCH PART 1 WITH DICTIONARY, by Chayat. This would be in preparation for Part 2 which I plan to take Spring semester at UMD, beginning at the end of January. (Secondarily I may be interested in some additional tutoring during the semester if I find I need it.) I am flexible about dedicating as much time as required to achieve the goal and I would need a teacher willing to support me in that My only training in Hebrew was at a Reform Judaism temple in preparation for my Bat Mitzvah as a teen but it was primarily phonetic reading rather than grammar and vocabulary.

*My proficiency level would best be described as beginner. I only know some basic words and phrases in Japanese, and the written language I do not know at all.
*The first reason I want to learn Japanese is because I just visited the country and realized how important it is to know the language, and I plan on visiting yearly, with the possibility of a future in japan.
*As I said I have a very basic knowledge of the language, so I would need improvement in every area, but I am dedicated to learning the language.
*I would want my lessons to be about and hour, maybe more if needed.
*Hop efully I could find a teacher who is patient because of my limited knowledge, I would need lessons that have a slow learning curve, and a teacher who could even share some insight on japan would be great!
