I am able to read and write some Chinese I am taking Chinese 201 at a University. I am able tob read and write well enough to receive high to medium B's in my Chinese. A friend and I are looking to learn Sign Language. We are both beginners and have essentially no experience in signing. I think that having a knowledge of ASL would be very beneficial for any career, and I have been interested in learning for quite some time because I find it fascinating. If it would be possible, my friend and I would like to have lessons perhaps twice a week in the evenings. We are looking for a teacher who can be patient with students who are new to singing as we are both just beginning! Thank you!

I speak portuguese fairly well, and have basic to intermediate reading and writting skills. I plan to take the Celpe-Bras exam in October 2007. It is an exam for portuguese proficiency to prove that I can study in this language at a University level. I need to pass this exam to beable to apply for a masters degree program in Brazil. In order to pass the exam and do well when studying in portuguese at a Brazilian University, I need mainly to improve my grammer, writting, and comprehension skills. I need to beable to respond and speak about questions related to texts I have read and topics related to culture, politics and literature. I would like to dedicate atleast 6hrs per week or more to portuguese lessons. Of course, I would study much more outside of class. I am looking for a teacher who is fluent in the language and can teach me how to speak read and write at an advanced university level of portuguese.

I travel to China approximately twice yearly, visiting the Daoist Temples and learning medical qigong. I find that I need to be able to converse in the native language, to maximize my experiences there. I would like to have a private tutor because I travel so much, I cannot commit to consistent days of every week.
