I have a personal reason to study Catalan. I've visited Catalonia for 5 times and fall in love with this state. I can speak English but I am a beginner in Catalan. General converasation is my goal for now. I think I can dedicate 2-3 hours a week (Saturday morning or evening for the class). I do hope that I'll be a fast learner and don't make myself as a hard work for my teacher :)

Sé que li estranyarà aquest missatge. Sóc estudiant de periodisme de la Universitat Pompeu Fabra i estic fent un reportatge per Vilaweb, el diari digital, sobre l'aprenentatg e del Català com a llengua estrangera per part de gent de fora de Catalunya. Ens interessa sobretot el tema de les classes per Skype com a nova eina per aprendre llengues.
Ens interessaria quedar per parlar de les seves impressions com a professor i, si fos possible poder gravar en vídeo un petot tros de com fa una classe. Seria molt important.

I have a boyfriend who is from Spain. He will be coming to meet me this December and I would really like to be able to speak to him in his language. We have found we have very much in common, if you believe in soul mates, than you understand. I am a beginner and trying very hard to find anyway I can to learn Catalan.
A s far as time to study, I have as much time as is needed. I am on disability so I am home. At the present I am on limited exercise, so have many hours to put into the lessons.
I learn quickly, most of the time, although I ask many questions if I do not understand. Qualities I look for in a teacher... someone who is willing to teach as fast as I can learn, yet understands if I get confused. I really want to be able to impress my boyfriend and his family when they arrive, for I will eventually be moving to Spain in the future.

Primarily, I wish to improve my Catalan. At the moment, I have basic conversation, and my understanding is quite good. However I want to improve as I go to Catalonia 2-3 times per year as my partner is Catalan. My reading and writing is quite poor, so I will need to improve these too.
I don't mind either one to one or group lessons.

I am currently living in Barcelona and have been learning Spanish but want now to start learning Catalan. I understand some but don´t have the confidence to try and speak it too often. I want to be able to say in Catalan what I can in Castellano. To understand key structures to common phrases and how to pronounce words with confidence.
