I am an intermediate level student studying Brazilian Portuguese. I'm interested in improving my skills for purposes of travel and volunteering in Brazil. 'Offline' study of grammar and vocabulary is not a problem. My biggest need is regular practice of my conversationa l and writing skills. I am a beginner, I know some basic sayings that I learneed from a Pimseleur C.D, but I have a lot to learn. I am very interested in language and I regret not studying it more in college. It has been a dream of mine to live in Brazil for a long time. I have been looking into programs teaching English, and I have learned that if you do not know Portuguese, you are forced to go with a program that can put you where ever they want in the country.
I need improvement in every aspect of the language. I would like to dedicate 4-6 hours per week with language lessons. I work full time, five and later and weekends will work best. I am looking for a teacher who specializes in Brazillian Portuguese who can teach me to speak with people naturally, not just in proper text book form, that is why Giselle appealed to me, being from Brazil. I feel I am a fast learner and a natural with languages, so I would like to be pushed and challenged as well.
