I'm a serious student of Mandarin who is seeking to achieve conversationa l fluency by April 2015 in order to travel to China, not as a tourist, but with friends (who are from China) in order to experience the local communities and culture. I am seeking an experienced, flexible and friendly Mandarin Tutor for a Canadian Born Chinese Native English speaker. I studied beginner Mandarin at Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) last summer. Other than that I don't have any other formal background - So very little training!
I have the books from that school and would like a tutor to follow these books where possible so I can stay on track. In the future, I may return to NTNU so I'd like to keep up with their methods.
I live downtown Toronto by Spadina and Bloor, willing to travel if it's <20 mins away. I am seeking once a week sessions, possibly twice a week if time permits. Prefer in-person to begin, and if technology permits I'm also open to video conferencing to save on costs.
You must have a formal teaching certificate in Mandarin teaching, and able to read/write in both Traditional and Simplified.
